Alfredo sauce incurs an additional charge because it is considered a premium sauce option at Olive Garden. Unlike marinara, garlic butter, and ranch dressing, which are included with specific menu items or can be selected without an extra fee, Alfredo sauce is often requested as an enhancement or substitution for a base sauce, such as on pasta dishes or with breadsticks. This additional charge reflects the higher cost of the ingredients used in making the rich, creamy Alfredo sauce. Understanding the pricing structure for different sauces can help customers make informed choices regarding their meal selections and any modifications they wish to make.
